Name: Anthony Stodart

Employer: ArdMoor
Background: Former farmer, founder of ArdMoor with two sons and a daughter

What made you choose this career?
An ingrained love of the countryside and all that goes with it and a wish to offer a great range of top quality kit at sensible prices that allows others to enjoy the great outdoors as much as I do.
How long have you worked within this industry?
I have been at ArdMoor since its inception in 2010 and have been at Kingston Farm since birth.
What do you love most about your job?
The variety of season and the sense of achievement that comes following a good harvest and a good winter trading season at ArdMoor. Planning for the future and building a business that allows others to develop their careers and themselves and to leaving the farm for future generations, hopefully in as good a state as I came to it.
What is your favourite time of year and why?
Autumn. Harvest is in, next year's crops are being sown, the autumnal colours visibly tell you that everything is preparing for winter, Christmas trading is fast approaching and the shooting season is under way.
What is your most difficult time of year and why?
Summer - crops need tended on a daily basis followed by harvest when a whole year's work can be ruined by factors completely outwith my control either in the form of weather or by city traders determining the price we get for our crops.
What is your least favourite aspect of the job?
I am blessed in that I wake every morning and look forward to the day ahead but the least favourite aspect of my job is the red tape, mindless rules and endless regulations that we now have to adhere to on the farm.
